How much does it cost to play?
Match Night Leagues operate a free joining fee on all leagues.
Weekly match fees vary across the board depending on which league you enter but are approximately, £26 to £32 dependant on the league you join. The weekly match fee is payable to the League Manager or Referee in full before your game each week.
What happens if I don’t have the full match fee?
Match Night Leagues operate a ‘NO PAY NO PLAY’ policy so if you fail to pay the full amount then you will be unable to play. Unfortunately, we operate on a zero-tolerance policy to short payments.
How many players can be used in one game?
We offer a flexi squad system where you can have a squad of up to eight players (5aside) and up to nine players (6aside) on a league night. Subs throughout the game are roll on roll off meaning you can make unlimited changes.
Do I have to register every player?
No. We use a flexi squad system whereby you can use a different set of players each week if you wish. All players must be nominated to a team but not registered.
Do we have to wear a team kit or matching colours?
No, but ideally a team kit would be preferable but as long as you have the same colour tops on that will be fine. Failing that we provided bibs at the league.
Do I need to wear shin pads?
We strongly advise that you wear them, but it is entirely your decision.
How many games do we play per week?
Each team is allocated one fixture per week at a scheduled kick off time which is allocated on the season’s fixtures. If a team provides notice they are unable to play, teams are offered a second game completely free of charge and opponents are charged 50% of original match fee. How long are the matches?
Depending on the league format game duration is either 28 minutes with 2 minutes allowed for turnaround at half time and at full time or 38 minutes with 2 minutes allowed for turnaround at half time and at full time.
How long does a season last?
Depending on the league size – a season will be based on playing all opponents twice i.e.an 8-team league will last 14 weeks where a season of 6 teams will last 12 weeks. Please note your team will be automatically entered into the next season following the conclusion of the current season unless teams provide a 2-week notice of cancelation.
Are there multiple divisions?
On leagues where there are multiple divisions there will be promotion and relegation between both leagues of the bottom 2 and top 2 teams.
Can I have specific a kick off time?
In some circumstances this can be agreed on team entry. You must state this on the confirmation call as we like to be fair to every team in the league, but you can give us your preference on kick offs for the new season and we will do our best to accommodate your team.
What is a Challenge Match?
A Challenge Match will appear if on a rare occasion we have a space within that league. When you are scheduled to play a Challenge Match you will have a fixture arranged. You turn up and play the game as normal, but you will gain an automatic 5-0 win and 3 points added to the league table.
Unlike other league providers we know the frustration that comes along with having to play a Challenge Match so as good will gesture you will only have to pay 50% of your match fee for the friendly game that you play. On all occasions you must attend for your scheduled kick off.
If in the extremely very rare event that you don’t get a match, you will receive a call from the league manager explaining the situation along with an apology.
What happens if my opponents ‘No show’?
No need to worry you will always get a game arranged for you. And unlike other league providers we know the frustration that comes along with having to play a friendly game.

What happens if a team in my league withdraws?
any team which leaves the league, we will replace them with a new team that we have waiting to join the leagues. This team will replace the team taking the league position, points, goals scored and conceded to ensure fair to all teams who had played the team no longer playing.
What happens if our team can’t play our Match?
If you can’t make your game and you haven’t given us 24 hours’ notice you will unfortunately be charged the 50% off match fee the following week and lose the game 5-0. If you ‘No Show’ which means you fail to attend a fixture without providing notice you will be charged full amount for the fixture.
What if we go away or on holiday and cannot play our Match?
We operate a flexi squad system which means any 5 or 6 players can play to fulfil your fixture but if you have a substantial number of players away to constitute cancelling your fixture then to avoid getting charged you will need to give a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for no charges or fees to be payable. Obviously, the more notice you give the better as we will have to arrange a fixture for your opponents in your absence. On all occasions of cancelation, opponents will receive 5-0 win and 3 points meaning you lose the fixture.
What happens if we want to leave and withdraw from the league?
We understand that you may need to leave the league. In order to leave the league, you need to give us 2 weeks’ notice to not be charged 2 weeks match fees.
Do we need to bring any equipment to a Match?
No. We supply all equipment for the league including bibs, balls, and referees. All you need to do is attend with your team and match fee.
Who referees for Match Night Leagues?
We have fully qualified referees and Match Night Leagues staff are experienced and fully inducted into Match Night Leagues Procedures at each and every league that we run Our League Managers or Referees are managed by a League Manager so if any issues arise, they can be dealt with quickly and effectively.
